A special ride for a special cause
Thousands of bicycle enthusiasts took part in the annual Ride For Roswell around Western New York includng the western portion of Orleans County today to help raise funds for cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The participants left the University at Buffalo early this morning for rides varying in length from 3 miles to 102 miles. Here a quartet of riders, who were taking part in the longest ride, the scenic 102 mile “Century Route”, are shown along Lower Lake Road approaching the halfway point of the ride at Golden Hill State Park.
This Albion trio each biked 30 miles and collectively raised $2,700. They include, from left: Kathy Jurs, Sheila Lemcke and Tom Smith.
