An insufficient number of players has caused Holley to cancel the remainder of its 8 man varsity football season schedule.

The Hawks had been scheduled to host Lyons/Sodus this afternoon.

Holley had only 12 players available (the minimum for a team to play an 8 man game) when the Hawks went to Wellsville last weekend.

Holley, whose squad is composed mainly of freshmen and sophomores, is planning to schedule two or three JV games for the remainder of the season.

“Because of a lack of numbers we have had to cancel the rest of our varsity games,” said Coach Wil Prince. “Because of a variety of things, including a Covid pause, we haven’t had a full squad all season. This is the toughest decision I’ve had to make but we’ll finish with some JV games and get the kids some games and some experience that way.”
