Fast start powers Irish past Lady Tigers
A big error aided first inning scoring burst sparked Notre Dame to a 21-8 win over host Lyndonville this afternoon in a Genesee Region League softball lame.
Five errors and a two-run single by Callie McCulley highlighted the decisive opening inning surge which vaulted the Irish out to a quick 6-0 lead.
Notre Dame later put a lock on the win by exploding for 10 runs in the fifth inning to open up a 19-4 lead as Emma Finch had a two-run double and Abby Pingrey a two-run single.
Audrey Farrell finished with 4 hits, including a triple, and Montana Weidman 3 for the Irish.
Gracie Johnson had 3 hits and Natalie Ostrowski 2 for Lyndonville which is now 1-1 in the league.
In another G-R game, Pembroke defeated Holley 10-1.
