Tigers surge past Purple Eagles
Trailing 23-16 at the half, Akron used a big 21 point third period scoring surge to key a 55-49 win over visiting Albion this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League game.
Brandon Orr scored all 10 of his points and Joe Siska netted 8 of his 15 to spark Akron’s decisive third period surge as the Tigers rallied into a 37-33 lead at the three-quarter mark.
Adam Mietz also scored 15 and David Kalinowski 10 for Akron.
Deyonci Farley took game high honors with 25 for Albion as Kevin Hillman had 9.
Both teams are now 5-6 in N-O action.
Girls Basketball
Akron 46, Albion 42
Helena Hill scored 16, Elise Leeds 10 and Darion Jonathan 9 to spark Akron to a 46-42 win over host Albion.
Lexi Wolck scored 11 and Brylie Hapeman 10 for Albion which trailed 28-19 at the half.
Both teams are now 7-4 in N-O competition.
Roy-Hart 58, Buffalo Arts 50
Lexie Lovewell and Rileigh McCabe each scored 15 and Meghan Washington 9 to lead Roy-Hart to a 58-50 non league win over Buffalo Arts.
Trailing 31-17 at the half, Roy-Hart erupted for 30 points in the third period to key the win.
Holley 43, Barker 35
Maddie Marsh scored 14 and Olivia Radford and Halee Passarell 9 each to pace Holley to a 43-35 non league win over Barker. Marsh also grabbed off 16 rebounds.
Gabby Baker scored 10 and Kylie Annable 8 for Barker.
