N-O All-League wrestlers
Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Champions were crowned in 15 weight classes at the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League wrestling tournament held Saturday at Albion. In front are Andy Lucinski (Newfane), Adam Huntington (Newfane), Amilcar Morales (Albion), Josh Gill (Newfane) and Colby Petrie (Medina). In the middle row are Nick Voelker (Newfane), Ryan Nugent (Newfane), Phil Stevenson (Newfane), AJ Schafer (Roy-Hart/Barker) and Trent Kenny (Wilson). In the back row are Jessy Cruz (Albion), Tim Longwell (Akron), Millard Young (Akron), Bryce Kelly (Albion) and Ty Casinelli (Newfane). Newfane took top team honors to capture a sixth straight N-O championship. Petrie, who earned the tourney’s Most Valuable Wrestler award, claimed his fourth straight N-O title. Schaffer, who earned his second straight title, earned his 100th career win in the championship bout.
