Albion boys top R-H to double N-O swim lead

Albion doubled its lead by downing host Roy-Hart 92-78 this afternoon in a key Niagara-Orleans League boys swim meet.

The victory keeps Albion undefeated at 7-0 while runner-up Roy-Hart slips to 5-2 with three N-O meets remaining on the schedule.

Matt Kovaleski doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke for Albion which also got individual events wins from Harrison Brown (200 Free), Sam Sanchez (100 Butterfly), Chase Froman (500 Free) and Thomas Furmanski (100 Backstroke).

Sanchez was also on all three winning relays while Kovaleski, Ryan Krenning, Froman and Brown were each on two.

William Rickard was a double winner for Roy-Hart in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

The Roy-Hart girls stayed undefeated at 7-0 with a 139-23 win over Albion (0-7).

Madison Ohol doubled in the 200 Free and 100 Backstroke, Kayla Hagen in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Mandy Hill in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Roy-Hart which also had Jenna Heiser take the 100 Breaststroke and Jordyn Bobzien the 500 Free.

Medina splits with Akron
The Medina boys improved to 4-3 with a 97-68 win over visiting Akron (2-5).

August Pietrafesa was a double winner in the 100 Free and 100 Backstroke for Medina as Ray Paull added a win in the 50 Free and Isaac Pace in the 100 Breaststroke.

Nate Chubb doubled in the 200 Free and 500 Free and Jacob Cobti in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly for Akron.

The Akron girls improved to 5-2 with a 97-73 victory over Medina (4-3).

Hannah Heil was a double winner for Medina in the 50 Free and 100 Free as Olivia Carter took the 100 Backstroke.

Akron got wins from Rachel PeQueen (200 Free), Mindy Doktor (Individual Medley), Skyler Masse (100 Butterfly), Marissa Maggorie (500 Free) and Natalie Baumler (100 Breaststroke).

Newfane sweeps Barker

Newfane bested Barker 79-69 in the boys meet and 107-85 in the girls competition.

The Newfane boys are now 1-6 and Barker 2-5. The Lady Panthers are 4-3 and the Lady Raiders 1-6.
