Medina swimmers sweep Barker

Medina scored a sweep over host Barker in Niagara-Orleans League swim competition this afternoon winning the boys’ meet 119-45 and the girls’ 122-35.

The Medina boys squad was led by a trio of individual event double winners as Ray Paull took the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststeoke, Hunter Heil the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke and August Pietrafesa the 50 Free and 100 Free. Chris Goyette also took the 200 Free for the Seahorses which improve to 3-2.

Ryan Santarsiero took the 500 Free for Barker which slips to 2-3.

Brooklyn Brown doubled in the IM and 500 Free and Hannah Heil in the 50 Free and 100 Free for the Medina girls. Margaret Klotzbach also took the 200 Free, Amanda Woodruff the Butterfly and Grace Cogovan the Breaststroke as Medina improves to 3-2.

Natalie Bruning won the Backstroke for Barker which is now 1-4.

The Albion boys stayed undefeated at 5-0 by downing Akron (1-4) 117-48 as Matt Kovaleski doubled in the 200 Free and Breaststroke.

The Akron girls improved to 4-1 by downing Albion (0-5) 86-59 as Morgan Harris doubled in the 200 Free and Butterfly and Rachel PeQueen in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

The Roy-Hart boys improved to 4-1 with a 116-52 victory over Newfane (0-5).

The Roy-Hart girls stayed unbeaten at 5-0 by besting Newfane (2-3) 110-60 as Kayla Hagen doubled in the 100 Free and Backstroke and Amanda Hill in the 200 Free and 500 Free.
