Mustang cagers down host Bulldogs

A trio of double figure scorers led Medina to a 62-55 victory over host Kenmore East in a non league boys basketball game this evening.

Brian Fry and Nate Sherman both scored 15 and Vincent Montague 14 to set the pace as Medina improves to 2-0. Tyler Chinn added 9, Izaiah Rhim 7  and Jarin Rhim 2 for the Mustangs.

Up 9-4 after one period, the Mustangs increased their advantage over the Bulldogs a bit to 9 at 27-18 at the half. Fry tallied 9 and Sherman 8 in the half.

Medina maintained a 42-36 lead at the three-quarter mark. Sherman then scored 7, Fry 6 and Montague 5 in the final period to help lock up the victory.

Medina next faces Grand Island in the Falls Classic at Niagara Falls High School at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
