N-O spikers earn 1st team All-WNY honors
Two Niagara-Orleans League players, Roy-Hart’s Aspen Moore and Akron’s Darion Jonathan, have been named to the first team of the All Western New York volleyball small schools squad.
Moore, a senior outside hitter and two-time first team N-O All-League honoree, had 430 kills, including a school record 37 vs. Akron, 133 digs and 34 aces this season. She was also named N-O Player of the Year.
Jonathan, a three-time first team N-O All-League selection, had 263 spiking kills, 52 service aces and 236 digs.
In addition, two other members of Akron’s N-O championship team, senior outside hitter Helena Hill and sophomore setter Jessee Jonathan, have been named to the All-WNY second team. Both were first team N-O All-League honorees.
Hill 195 kills, 46 aces, 18 blocks and 218 digs and Jonathan 425 assists, 156 digs, 34 aces and 18 kills.
