Albion tops Springville to clinch tie for title

Clinching at least a tie for a second straight division title, undefeated (4-0, 5-0) Albion downed host Springville (0-4, 0-5) 28-14 this evening in a B2 Division contest.

Albion jumped out to a 14-0 first half lead as Ugene Harrison scored on a 48 yard pass reception from quarterback Bryce Pritchard in the first quarter and on a 15 yard run in the second period. Alex Rustay added both extra point kicks.

The Purple Eagles made it 21-0 in the third quarter on a 20 yard touchdown pass from Pritchard to Kevin Hillman.

Springville did cut the deficit to 21-14 in the final quarter but the Albion defense came up with a huge turnover on a pass interception by Matt Kovaleski with two minutes remaining.

The Purple Eagles offense then put a firm lock on the victory as Isaiah Callicutt scored on a 12 yard TD run.  Rustay again added the PAT kicks after both second half scores.

Akron 27, Roy-Hart 18
Akron downed visiting Roy-Hart 27-18 in a C North Division game.

Brandon Orr, Nick Wood and Timothy Longwell scored touchdowns for Akron.

Roy-Hart quarterback Charlie Brigham ran for one touchdown and also completed TD passes of 35 yards to Mike Huntington and 15 yards to Charlie Bruning.

Akron led 14-6 at the half.
