Heat advisory in effect from noon to 8 p.m. today

It’s going to be a hot one today on Labor Day with the high temperature forecast to reach 89. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from noon to 8 p.m. for Orleans County and Niagara, Monroe, Wayne, northern Cayuga, Oswego, Livingston and Ontario counties.
The heat index value will be the mid 90s. The hot and humid conditions will bring an increased risk of heat-related illness and dehydration, the Weather Service said.
