Rampage tops Wildcats in Metro softball
Improving to 2-0, the Cambria Rampage downed the Buffalo Wildcats Sunday in Metro Girls Softball League Senior Division action.
Jayden Townsend had 3 hits; Hanna Sobieraski 2 hits including a triple and Sam Choate, Sam Coakley, Alyssa Mayers, Emily Metz, and Megan Amacher each had 1 hit to lead the offense for the Rampage whose lineup includes a number of Roy-Hart players.
The Rampage scored 2 in the first inning; 2 in the third; 1 in the 4th; 2 in the fifth; and 1 in the sixth. North Buffalo scored their only runs in the 6th.
Choate pitched 7 innings striking out 8 and giving up 3 hits.
Second baseman Mackenzie Hiddie turned a double play in the third inning to highlight the Rampage’s defensive efforts.
