Albion, Medina and Roy-Hart will open Section VI baseball playoffs at home
No. 6 seed Albion will host Niagara-Orleans League foe No 11 Newfane at 5 this afternoon in the opening round of the Section VI Class B1 baseball playoffs.
The winner will then visit No. 3 Fredonia in the quarterfinals at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Albion defeated Newfane twice during the N-O season by scores of 13-2 and 14-3.
In Saturday’s Class B2 quarterfinals, No. 4 Medina will host N-O foe No. 5 Akron at 3 p.m. and No. 2 Roy-Hart will host the winner of today’s No. 10 Eden vs. No. 7 Gowanda game at noon.
Medina split with Akron during the N-O campaign by the identical score of 3-0.
Also in Class B2, No. 8 Wilson will host No. 9 WNY Maritime this afternoon at 5. The winner will visit top seeded Olmstead on Saturday at 1 p.m.
In Class C, No. 11 Barker visits No. 6 Portville in the pre quarterfinals at noon Saturday.
The rain date for Saturday’s games is Sunday.
