Albion netters edge past rival Medina

Avenging an early season loss, Albion downed visiting rival Medina 3 1/2-2 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League tennis match.

The Purple Eagles margin of victory came at the third singles match as Elliot Neidert outlasted Medina’s Toby Kiebala 6-2, 6-7, 6-1.

Albion also got straight set wins at first singles by Matthew Kovaleski, 6-0, 6-1 over Andrew Fuller; at second doubles by Hailey and Carson Bader, 6-2, 6-3 over Jacob Houseman and Haylee Seefeldt, and at third doubles by Josh Riley and Matt Rowcliffe, 7-5, 6-1 over Mark Barcena and Sophia Cardone.

Medina got wins at second singles by Ray Paull, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 over Victor Benjovsky, and at first doubles by Kody Leno and Andrew Houseman, 6-3, 6-4 over Nate Smith and Chase Froman.

Albion finishes the N-O season at 8-4 while Medina slips to 6-4.

Roy-Hart 4 1/2, Wilson 1
Roy-Hart finished the N-O season in second place at 9-3 by downing Wilson 4 1/2-1 at Gasport.

Wins at first singles by Patrick Sheelar and at third singles by Evan Birekmeier led the way for Roy-Hart.

The Rams also got wins from the doubles teams over Cameron VanBuron-Noah Kindron, Mason Collins-Kody Hayes and Kayla Hagen-Caleb Reith.

Kyle Lyon won at second singles for Wilson which drops to 3-7.
