Medina girls shutout Lyndonville

Making it two high scoring wins in as many days, Medina shutout host Lyndonville 15-0 this afternoon in a non league softball game.

Leading 1-0, Medina began to pull away by scoring three times in the third innning on a two-run single by Ashlee Howell and an RBI sacrifice fly by Morgan Allis. Singles by Hannah Hamilton and Brandi Guild a also helped spark the uprising.

Medina’s Lacey Kenward slides into third base ahead of a tag by Lyndonville shortstop Ella Lewis.

The Mustangs later put a lock on the victory in the sixth inning by erupting for seven runs on a barrage of seven hits.

Guild and Ryenn Oliver both finished with 5 hits for the Mustangs as Alisha Scroger had 4 and Hamilton 3.

In the circle, Cora Payne hurled a 3 hitter with 7 strikeouts for the Mustangs.

Medina, which downed Albion 19-1 on Monday, returns to Niagara-Orleans League action by hosting Wilson at 4:45 p.m. The Mustangs are 9-2 heading into the N-O finale.

In one N-O game Akron (6-3) defeated Barker (3-8) 11-1.
