Albion and Lyndonville girls rally late for softball victories; Medina wins at Akron

Albion and Lyndonville both scored late inning come-from-behind softball victories on the road today.

Trailing 7-3, Albion rallied for five runs with two out in the seventh inning to nip host Wilson 8-7 in a Niagara-Orleans League game.

A double by Sierra Newton, along with singles by Brylie Hapeman, Natalie DiCureia and Janae Doty, keyed the Purple Eagles big rally.

Hapeman, DiCureia and Lexi Wolck each finished with 2 hits.

Albion is now 4-4 and Wilson 2-4 in N-O action.

Trailing 8-4, Lyndonville exploded for 10 runs in the sixth inning to key an 18-8 Genesee Region League victory at Attica.

Miranda Lembcke had a double and triple, Anna Lewis as home run, Megan Krisher a double and winning pitcher Stacy Buckland a pair of hits to spark the Lady Tigers big rally.

Lembcke finished with a total of 4 hits, Buckland 3 and Lewis and Krisher 2.

In the circle, Buckland allowed 5 hits, struck out 2 and didn’t allow a walk.

Lyndonville improves to 6-1.

In another N-O game, Medina defeated host Akron 6-1 as Alisha Scroger had a solo home run in the fourth inning, Ryenn Oliver a triple which sparked a two-run second inning and Ashlee Howell a two-run double in the fifth to lead the Medina offense.

In the circle, Lacey Kenward scattered 4 hits and struck out 4.

Medina is now 7-1 and Akron 1-3 in N-O competition.

Kendall 23, Monroe 3

Kendall romped to a 23-3 non league win over Monroe as Michela Hanlon had 4 hits and Adriana Passarell, winning pitcher Sara Mattle, Anna Oakley and Kelly Mayes 2 each. Mayes and Shianna Patten both had triples and Ashley Kingsbury a double.

 

In the circle, Mattle allowed only 2 hits and struck out 12.
