Albion and Holley score tennis wins

Albion downed visiting Newfane 4 1/2-1 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League tennis match.

Matthew Kovaleski and Victor Benjovsky scored straight set wins at the first two singles matches to lead the way for Albion.

The Purple Eagles also swept the three doubles matches with victories by the duos of Nate Smith-Chase Froman, Hailey and Carson Bader and Josh Riley-Matt Rowcliff.

Albion is now 1-1 and Newfane 0-2 in N-O competition.

Holley blanked Alexander 5-0 in a season opening Genesee Region League tennis match led by wins by the singles trio of Aaron Strathearn, Cheyan Palmer and Kristina Yaroshchuk.

The Hawks also got wins from the doubles teams of Dalton Thurley-Steven Morgan and Jake Peters-Eli Bibby.

In another G-R match, Oakfield-Alabama blanked Kendall 5-0.
