Three Purple Eagles squads earn state Scholar/Athlete Team Awards

Contributed Photos – GIRLS BASKETBALL: Three Albion winter sports teams – girls basketball, girls swimming and boys swimming – have earned New York State Public High School Athletic Scholar/Athlete Team Awards by compiling a composite grade point average of 90 or above. Members of the girls basketball team include, in front,  Elisabeth Baker, Sierra Newton, Janae Doty and Natalie DiCureia.  In back are Natalie Lathrop, Brylie Hapeman, Kirsten Struble, Caitlynn Snook and Tess Pettit.

BOYS SWIMMING – In front are Harrison Brown, Matt Kovaleski, Tyler Kast, ­­­­Josh Manning and Ben Hickman.  In back are Thomas Furmanski, Devin Olles, Chase Froman Cameron Ecker, Zach Kilner and Josh DePoty.  Absent from photo are Jacob Coolbaugh, Eric Newlands, Dyllan Beach and Nikolas Greean.

GIRLS SWIMMING:  In front are Avery Gaines, Rylee Pearles, Allison Graham, Rylie Lear, Karlie Henchen and Loren Beam.  In back are Sierra Kast, Julie Ives, Mykailah Roberts, Haylie Allis and Michaela Pantano.

INDIVIDUAL BOYS BASKETBALL AND WRESTLING SCHOLAR/ATHLETES: Although their teams did not qualify several boys basketball players and wrestlers also received individual Scholar/Athlete Awards by compiling a  grade point average of 90 or above. In front are Bryce Pritchard (basketball), Jessy Cruz (wrestling), Ugene Harrison (wrestling), Hunter Webster (basketball). In back are wrestlers: Cole Spierdowis, Ellwood Hafner, Malachi Sugar and Alex Hafner.  Wrestlers absent from photo are Cody Wilson, Hunter Albright and Zach Albright.
