Ram cagers upend Lakemen
Trailing 14-8 after one period, Roy-Hart used a 14-2 second period surge to key a 53-39 victory over host Wilson this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball game.
Jake Bruning and Lance Krieger both hit a three and Charlie Bruning had 4 points to spark Roy-Hart’s second period uprising which rallied the Rams into a 22-16 half-time lead.
The Rams increased their advantage to 40-30 at the three-quarter mark.
Charlie Bruning finished with 19, Jake Bruning 15, Charlie Brigham 7 and Krieger 6 for Roy-Hart which is now 2-5 in N-O action.
Jake Miller scored 20, including six threes, for Wilson which slips to 4-3 and two games off the pace in the N-O title chase.
Newfane 98, Albion 30
Hitting 14 three’s, Newfane romped to a 98-30 victory over visiting Albion to improve to 7-1 in N-O competition.
Kyle DeVoogel scored 38, including six threes, Max Weber 19, including three threes, and Brandon Gross 16, including four threes, to set the pace for the Panthers which move a half game ahead of idle Medina (6-1).
Deyonci Farley scored 9, Liam Ward 6 and Bryce Pritchard 5 to lead the way for Albion which slips to 4-4 in N-O action.
Akron 57, Barker 36
Building up a 26-7 half-time advantage, Akron (2-5) went on to defeat Barker (0-6) as Derek Holtz scored 15, Adam Mietz 14 and Jake Siska 13 to spark Akron.
Evan Ecker scored 10 for Barker.
