Roy-Hart/Barker/Medina club hockey team is off to strong start in debut season
Currently riding a five game winning streak, the fledgling Roy-Hart/Barker/ Medina club hockey team is off to a strong start in its inaugural season of Western New York Club League competition.
The Roy-Hart/Barker Medina squad, which is comprised of players from four local school districts all with previous club hockey experience, is currently 6-4 overall. The team is 4-2 in the White Division whose lineup also includes Wilson/Newfane, Dunkirk/Fredonia, East Aurora/Holland, City Honors, Cheektowaga and Olean.
Roy-Hart, which is serving as the host district for the club squad, has seven players on the team including junior forward Michael Kuchey, sophomore forward Jason Kuchey, freshman forward Dominic Peracciny, senior forward, Joe DeBendetto, senior goalie Evan Birkemeir, junior defender Thomas Paisley and sophomore defender Colin Dodge.
Barker is represented by the trio of senior defender Luke Luckman, senior forward Rocco Spagnola and sophomore forward Jacob Harris.
Medina has five players on the team including junior forward Matt Saj, freshman forward Corey Saj, freshman forward/defender Conner McNeil, senior goalie Carson Gates and junior forward Rhett Wagner.
Rounding out the team is the Akron trio of junior forwards Mark Krzykowski and Drew Marsh and sophomore forward Trevor Crawford.
The players all previously competed on club teams at rinks in Batavia, Brockport and Wheatfield.
The RBM squad plays its home games at the Cornerstone Arena in Lockport.
