Lady Tigers surge past Lady Hawks

Taking charge with a late second quarter scoring burst, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Holley 42-11 this afternoon in a non league girls basketball game.
Leading by a narrow 12-9 margin, Lyndonville put together a key 10-0 run to close the period and open up a 22-9 half-time advantage.

Ella Lewis scored 6 points, including a layup off a steal and another layup at the buzzer, to lead that Lady Tigers uprising which also included baskets by Savannah Poler and Alecia Hinkson.
Lyndonville upped the advantage to 19, 28-9, at the three-quarter mark.
Holley trailed by only two, 6-4, at the end of the first period and then pulled into a 7-7 tie early in the second stanza on a three by Sarah Klatt.
However, the Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Hawks 15-2 over the rest of the period to take control of the contest and go to 1-1 on the young season.
Ella Lewis finished with a game high 14 points to lead the Lady Tigers as Hinkson had 11, Anna Lewis 8, Grace Hayes 5 and Poler and Paige McDonald 2 each.
Klatt led Holley with 5 as Madison Marsh, Olivia Radford and Madison Day had 2 each.
