Medina opens field hockey season Thursday

Looking to bounce back from last year’s 1-11 league record, Medina is scheduled to begin Niagara-Orleans League field hockey competition at Newfane on Thursday.
Anchoring the Mustangs lineup is the veteran quintet of seniors Alexis Maines and Grace Flores, juniors Alissa Blount and Guin Schalck and sophomore Lacey Kenward.
The lineup for Coach Amber Cleaveland’s Mustangs also includes seniors Hannah Mahnke, Madison Kenward, Megan Showler, Lydia Battaglia and Amanda Nottingham; juniors Margaret Griffin, Libby Cook, Jessica Granchelli, Brandi Guild, Sarah Cochrane and sophomore Tessa Pecoraro.
