Prepping for the Niagara-Orleans League campaign, Roy-Hart will open the boys soccer season by competing in the round robin Holley Tournament tomorrow and Wednesday.

Roy-Hart, which will open the N-O season at defending champion Newfane on Saturday, will face Batavia in the tourney opener tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. and Holley on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Holley will then face Batavia on Friday. The tourney became a three team round-robin event when Rochester Academy Charter dropped out.

The Rams are led by a group of eight returning regulars, all seniors, including forwards Steven Schumacher, Noah Kindron and Jamasen Johnson along with defenders Patrick Sheeler, Tyler Choate, Aaron Miller, Andrew Srock and goalie Kodey Hayes.

Johnson was a first team N-O All-League honoree last season while Sheeler received Honorable Mention.

The Roy-Hart lineup also includes seniors Evan Berkemeir (midfield) and Jon Huntington (forward) along with juniors Ethan Lindke (midfield), Jose Campos (midfield) and Jacob Fritton (midfield), sophomore Matt Scott (midfield) and Aidan Bligh (forward).

“We’ve got a pretty solid lineup throughout and I think we’ll be very competitive,” said Coach Greg Martillotta. “We’ve got a lot of quality numbers and they’ve worked hard in the off season so that should be a recipe for a successful season.”
