Nationals advance at Gatorade Nationals
Riding the 1 hit, 9 strikeout pitching performance of the duo of Joe Dell’oso and Chris Goyette, the Niagara Nationals downed the Orion Chargers 9-1 this morning in the second round of the Gatorade Nationals Tournament at Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Trevor Luthart, Mitchell Holtz and Carson Harper each banged out a pair of hits to lead the Nationals offense.
The Nationals took the lead for good by scoring 4 times in the second inning as Harper had a triple and Holtz a single.
Hits by Luthart, Harper and Nate Sherman helped to plate 2 more runs in the fourth frame.
The Nationals also scored twice in the sixth as Holtz doubled and Hunter Briggs singled.
The Nationals next game is Saturday.
