Laura Bohm re-elected to lead GCC board of trustees

BATAVIA – Genesee Community College’s Board of Trustees on Tuesday evening re-elected Laura J. Bohm as chairwoman of the Board of Trustees for the 2017-2018 year.
The board also re-elected Donna M. Ferry as vice chairwoman and Peter R. Call as secretary.
Mrs. Bohm is a Batavia resident. She is a retired housing administrator. Ms. Ferry, a Darien resident, is secretary/treasurer of SJF Construction, a family-owned construction business. Mr. Call, of Batavia, is president of My-T Acres, Inc., a diversified local farming business.
Mrs. Bohm also currently serves as president of the New York Community College Trustees Association, which represents trustees of all 30 community colleges within the State University of New York.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of Genesee Community College. Board members are all volunteers, and other than the student trustee, serve seven-year terms. Five members are appointed by the Genesee County Legislature. Four members are appointed by the New York State Governor. The student trustee is selected on an annual basis by GCC students.
