DOT will pave 12 miles of Route 18 in Kendall
8 miles on Parkway in Monroe County will also be paved
KENDALL – The state Department of Transportation will pave 12.3 miles of Route 18 this year in Kendall, from the Carlton-Kendall town line heading east to Sand Road near Route 272.
He project is estimated to cost $600,000. It’s part of $18.5 million in paving projects this summer and fall covering 130 miles in the Finger Lakes region, which includes Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates counties.
The DOT also is paving 8 miles of the Lake Ontario State Parkway between Route 19 and Payne Beach Road in the towns of Hamlin and Parma in Monroe County. That will cost $5.8 million, according to a news release from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office.
“Safe and reliable infrastructure is the backbone of any economy and this funding will help ensure roadways across the region remain in good repair and able to meet the needs of New Yorkers, businesses and visitors alike,” Cuomo said. “This administration has made an unprecedented investment in rebuilding New York’s transportation network, work that will improve the quality of life for residents and lay the groundwork for future growth and prosperity.”
Other paving and repair work in the region include:
• 14.9 miles on Route 5 from Route 77 to Wortendyke Road (County Route 37) in the towns of Pembroke and Batavia, Genesee County ($1.5 million)
• 7.7 miles on Route 19A from the Allegany/Wyoming county line to Route 436 in the town of Genesee Falls, Wyoming County ($1.1 million)
• 6.6 miles on Route 15 from the Steuben county line to the village of Springwater in the town of Springwater, Livingston County ($600,000)
• 29.2 miles on Route 390 from the Thruway to Route 590 in the towns of Brighton and Henrietta, Monroe County ($1.1 million)
• 6.9 miles on Route 14 from Route 104 to the village of Sodus Point in the town of Sodus Point, Wayne County ($600,000)
• 3 miles on Route 370 between Route 104 and Westbury Road in the towns of Wolcott and Butler, Wayne County ($1 million)
• 2.4 miles on Route 247 from just north of County Route 18 to Routes 5&20 in the towns of Gorham and Hopewell, Ontario County ($400,000)
• 11 miles on Routes 5&20 between Lakeshore Drive and the Seneca/Geneva town line in the towns of Hopewell and Seneca, Ontario County ($3.4 million)
• 6.3 miles on State Route 14 from Castle Point Road to Randall’s Crossing in the town of Milo, Yates County ($400,000)
• 14.8 miles on Route 14A from Penn Yan to the Ontario county line in Penn Yan, Yates County ($1.2 million)
• 7 miles on Routes 5&20 between Route 96A and Waterloo in the town of Waterloo, Seneca County ($840,000)
