Notching victory No. 10 on the season, Lyndonville avenged an early season 4-3 extra inning loss by besting visiting Notre Dame 7-1 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League baseball game.

Eric Neace and Dawson Joy both banged out 3 hits for Lyndonville as Zach Johnson, Cody Bentley and Kane Flynn each chipped in with 2.

Mike Wells picked up the win on the mound scattering 7 hits and striking out 2.

Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock, Lyndonville took the lead for good by scoring 3 times in the fifth inning on a two-run triple by Joy and an RBI single by Johnson. A walk and a single by Wells set up the opportunity.

The Tigers then tacked on 3 insurance runs in the sixth on a two-run double by Bentley and an RBI double by Flynn.  A double by Neace and a walk set up the threat.

Defensively, the Tigers turned a key double play from Bentley at second to Jacob Hoffee at short to Neace at first to get out of a third inning jam.

Lyndonville, which is now 6-1 in the league and 10-1 overall, next hosts Oakfield-Alabama on May 8.
