Newfane sweeps Albion in N-O track opener; R-H splits at Akron;Barker sweeps Wilson

Niagara-Orleans League track competition got underway this afternoon as Newfane scored a sweep at Albion winning the boys meet 77-64 and the girls 95-46.
Sam Auernhamer was a double winner for the Newfane boys in the 800 and 3200.
Lauren Boudeman won the 100 (:13.7), Kayleigh Daniels the 200 (:28.8), Vanessa Burkhard the 800 (2:40) and Kim Goerss the 1500 (5:32) to lead the Lady Panthers.

Kory Reynolds doubled in the Shot-put (41-2) and Discus (121-2) for the Albion boys which also had Lamar Chambers win the 400 Hurdles (1:02), Tre Yaskulski the 100 Hurdles (:16.9) and Preston Flugel the Pole Vault (11-0).
Chanyce Powell won both the high jump (4-6) and long jump (17-7) for the Albion girls squad which also had Hannah Wheling capture the 100 Hurdles (:19.6), Katie Rustay the Pole Vault (8-0), Yasmeen Shabazz the Shotput (28-1) and Sophia Zambito the triple jump (29-7).
Roy-Hart, Akron split
The Roy-Hart boys nipped host Akron 70-69 while the Lady Tigers bested the Lady Rams 116-25.
Jarret Thompson doubled in the 400 Hurdles (1:04.1) and Pole Vault (10-6) for the Roy-Hart boys which also had Jon Huntington win the 110 Hurdles (:18.6), Ozzy Moore the 3200 (11:15) and Trevor Meal the Triple Jump (39-5).
Jamasen Johnson, Zack Jenkins, Tyler Choate and Nick Anderson also combined to win the 400 Relay for the Rams in :47.5.
Ethan Martin was a double winner for Akron in the 100 and 400.
The Akron girls were led by a trio of double winners including Margo Henley in the 1500 (5:29) and 3000 (11.50), Amanda Swader in the Shot-put (30-9) and Discus (79-1) and Leah Czechowski in the 200 (:28.1) and Long Jump (16-4 3/4).
The Lady Rams had Kali Scharping win the High Jump (4-8) and Kaleigh Kuzma the 400 Hurdles (1:08.3).
Barker sweeps Wilson
Barker swept past Wilson winning the boys meet 77-64 and the girls competition 81-59.
Dominic Clementi doubled in the 200 (:23.6) and 400 (53-3) for the Barker boys squad which also had Malik Smith win the 100 (:11.7), Adam Woodworth the Pole Vault (9-6), Jake Arnold the Triple Jump (36-11) and Noah Rocklein the Discus (112-5).
Tre Rees doubled in the 800 (2:06) and 1600 (5:09) and Mark Coder in the 110 Hurdles (:17.5) and 400 Hurdles (1:07.5) for Wilson.
Madison Gancasz doubled in the 100 (:13.4) and Pole Vault (7-0) for the Lady Raiders as Lydia Dewart won the 400 (1:06.7), Serena Harris the 800 (2:52.9), Katrina Clare the 200 (:28.8), Dakota Leising the High Jump (5-10) and Casey A’Hearn the Discus (90-3.).
Wilson had Grace Gerber double in the 100 Hurdles (:17.7) and 400 Hurdles (1:12.2) and Skyler Munnikhuysen in the Long Jump (15-7 1/2) and Triple Jump (30-4 1/2).
Diamond Postponements
Today’s rainy weather wiped out the scheduled slate of diamond contests including the Pembroke at Lyndonville, Holley at Oakfield-Alabama and Barker at Roy-Hart baseball games along with the Medina at Newfane, Lyndonville at Oakfield-Alabama and Byron-Bergen at Kendall softball games.
The Medina at Roy-Hart, Newfane at Barker and Holley at Kendall tennis matches were also washed out.
