Courthouse goes green to celebrate 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts selling cookies

ALBION – Girl Scouts from Albion and Kendall met by the Orleans County Courthouse today at 7:30 p.m. for a picture. The lights on the courthouse dome are green in honor of the 100th anniversary of Scouts selling cookies. The organization was founded on March 12, 1912 with the first Girl Scout troop in Savannah, Ga.
The courthouse is a landmark in Albion and tonight will shine green.
These four Girl Scouts dressed up as cookies. The girls include, from left: Samantha Basinait, Kaitlynn Basinait, Gia Howard and Aries-Marie McMurray.
