MEDINA – About 130 school-aged youth and parents had an opportunity to participate in a free family event at Orleans YMCA on Wednesday during the school break.

The event was possible through a collaboration with Orleans United Drug-Free Coalition, Medina Area Association of Churches, Orleans YMCA and Meggie Moo’s, an ice cream establishment in Medina.

Youth who brought non-perishable food items received tickets to win prizes – four $25 gift certificates as well as four Meggie Moo’s  T-shirts donated by Kathy Blackburn.

“We collected 70 food items for the two food pantries in Medina” said Pat Crowley, Drug Free Coalition, project director.
