Warriors nip Hawks in consolation game

Tonawanda nipped Holley 58-54 this afternoon in the consolation game of the Roy-Hart Tournament.

A layup by Charles Moore with less than a minute to play, which snapped a 54-54 tie, was the game winner for Tonawanda. Moore was named to the All-Tournament team.

Holley pulled even four times in the decisive final quarter but could not gain the lead. The Hawks knotted the contest at 41-41 on a basket by Isaiah Flow, at 43-43 on a tally by Dylan Hillabush, at 46-46 on a three by Derek McArthur and finally at 54-54 on a three by Ryan Andrews with 1:05 remaining.

Trailing 25-22 at the half, the Hawks pulled even at 39-39 at the three-quarter mark on Patrick Bower’s second three of the period.

Bower and Andrews both finished with 14 and Hillabush 11 for the Hawks as McArthur and Flow both had 7 and Andrew Moseman 1. McArthur ws named to the All-Tournmanet team.

Holley, which is now 0-3, next visits Attica at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a Genesee Region League game.
