Barker cagers down Akron in N-O opener
Barker bested host Akron 56-45 this evening in the Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball opener for both teams.
Nate Lukman scored 19, Jacob Arnold 13 and Eddie Wasnock 12 to lead the way for Barker as Shawn Callaghan and Kyle Moeller both added 4 and Austin Sullivan and Malik Smith 2.
Luckman also had 6 rebounds and 4 assists, Arnold 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Wasnock 11 rebounds.
Morgan Smith scored 15 and Weylon Abrams 10 for Akron.
The Raiders held leads of 12-10 after one quarter, 22-17 at the half and 38-29 at the three-quarter mark.
Luckman scored 14 in the second half and Wasnock tallied 8 in the final stanza.
Coach Don Baker’s Raiders improve to 3-0 overall.
