Albion girls hand Newfane first loss

Streaking Albion knocked front-running Newfane from the ranks of the unbeaten as the host Purple Eagles blanked the Lady Panthers 2-0 this evening.
Making it 5 wins in a row after an 0-3-1 start to the N-O campaign, Albion got pair of first half goals by Emily Blanchard, off assists from Vivian Rivers and Catherine Wolck, to drop Newfane to 8-1 in the league.
Isabella Prest made 11 saves to earn the shutout in goal for Albion whose defense also got strong efforts from Rivers, Natalie DiCureia and Kendall Derisley.
“It was a big team effort,” said Albion Coach Bruce Blanchard whose Purple Eagles improve to 5-3-1 in the league.
Medina 6, Barker 0
Destiny Satkowski scored 4 goals to lead Medina (3-4-1) past visiting Barker (0-9) as Martha Gardner and Katie Bilicki each netted 1.
Gardner also had 2 assists as Morgan Roach, Ashley Howell, Olivia Carter and Maddie Winrers each chipped in with 1.
Wilson 6, Roy-Hart 0
In other N-O action, Wilson (5-3) shutout Roy-Hart (2-7) 6-0 as Emily Patterson led the way with 2 goals and 2 assists.
