Barker/Roy-Hart rallies for key C North win

Coming from behind twice in the second half, Barker/Roy-Hart edged Springville 29-24 in a key C North Division game this evening at Barker.

Trailing 16-7 at the half, Barker/Roy-Hart rallied into a 23-16 lead as Carter DerSarkissian scored on a 6 yard run in the third quarter and then threw a 19 yard TD pass to Ashton Ark early in the fourth quarter. DerSarkissian also added both two-point conversion runs.

Springville though answered back with a 39 yard TD pass to regain the lead for what proved to be the last time at 24-23.

However, Barker/Roy-Hart again answered back this time with what proved to be the game winning 21 yard touchdown run by DerSarkissian with 4:18 remaining. Two major penalties against Springville helped the Bulls start the drive at the Griffins 30 yard line.

Barker/Roy-Hart then put a lock on the victory as Owen Maedl intercepted a pass with 2:13 remaining.

DerSarkissian also scored the Bulls lone first half touchdown on a 4 yard run and Billy Jaques added the extra point kick.

Barker/Roy-Hart improves to 3-0 in the division and 3-1 overall while Springville slips to 2-1, 3-1.

Barker/Roy-Hart next hosts JFK next Friday evening at 7.
