Today is the last full day of summer. On Tuesday, at precisely 8:04 p.m., fall will begin. It starts with the autumnal equinox on Sept. 22. This is the time when the sun shines directly above the Earth’s equator, creating nearly equal 12-hour lengths of day and night across the planet.
The weather for the rest of the week shows sunny days with highs in the mid- to upper-60s with overnight lows around 50 degrees.
There is a beach hazards statement in effect for Orleans and Niagara counties until Wednesday evening. The National Weather Service warns that there are strong currents and dangerous swimming conditions along the beaches in the two counties.
