OC Rivals visit Williamsville South Friday

Beginning a string of three straight road games, Albion/Medina will visit division co-leader Williamsville South in a key B1 football game at 7 p.m. Friday.

Williamsville South is currently tied for the B1 Division lead with West Seneca East at 2-0. Albion/Medina is 1-0 in the division and 2-0 overall.

The Billies romped past Lew-Port 69-13 and the OC Rivals downed Lake Shore 42-19 in B1 contests last weekend.

Williamsville South is led by quarterback Phillip Gangi who has passed for 367 yards and 5 touchdowns. His favorite receiver has been Tommy Collins who has 13 receptions for 228 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Albion/Medina ground attack has been led by Jayzon Wills with 233 yards rushing nd 1 touchdown and Elijah Doxey with 211 yards and 4 TDs.

Rivals quarterback Preston Woodworth has passed for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns including scoring strikes to Noah Harrison, Hadrian Batista and Doxey.

After the trip to Williamsville South, the Rivals will visit Lew-Port on Friday September 25 and Maryvale on Thursday October 1 before playing their first game at Albion on Friday October 9 against West Seneca East.

The other B1 games will have Lake Shore at West Seneca East and Lew-Port at McKinley on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Maryvale at Amherst on Friday at 7 p.m.

Barker/Roy-Hart at Eden/North Collins
Defending champion Barker/Roy-Hart will visit Eden/North Collins at 7 p.m. Friday in a C North contest.

Barker/Roy-Hart defeated Tonawanda 44-20 last weekend while Eden/North Collins dropped a 32-21 decision to Alden.

Friday’s other C North games will have Cleve Hill at Alden, Akron at Springville and Tonawanda at JFK all at 7 p.m.

Holley/Lyndonville is scheduled to visit Notre Dame/Byron-Bergen at 7 p.m. Friday at Genesee Community College.
