National Guard soldier from Medina gets promotion

A National Guard soldier from Medina has been promoted in the New York Army National Guard, Major General Ray Shields, the adjutant general for the state of New York, announced.
Ashley Lowery of Medina is assigned to Charlie Company, NY Recruiting and Retention Battalion. Lowery was promoted on July 31 to the rank of private.
Army National Guard promotions are based on a soldier’s overall performance, demonstrated leadership abilities, professionalism and future development potential.
