Tough start for Green at British Open
The back nine proved disastrous for Medina’s Melanie Green at today’s first round of the AIG British Women’s Open being played at the Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England as she finished with a 5 over par 76.
Green was at even par on the front nine as she had a birdie on 1 and a bogey on 4.
However, the troublesome back nine saw her score soar to 5 over as she had four bogeys (12, 13, 15 and 17) and one double bogey (11) and only one birdie (16).
The tournament will continue on Friday after which the field will be cut for the weekend’s two title deciding rounds.
