White Birch, Jr. Wilson score softball wins

White Birch trimmed Parkitects 18-17 and Jr. Wilson downed Mr, Septic 19-12 in Medina Women’s Softball League action Monday evening.

White Birch 18, Parkitects 17
Despite having one less hit than Parkitects, White Birch won the game 18-17 on a walk off double by Mallory Albone to pull ahead and win the game.

Going into the 7th inning, White Birch was down 17-15. Kenzie Muck started the inning with a single, followed by a single by Rebekah Hoffee and a single by Stacy Buckland. The next batter struck out and the following batter popped out to left field. Albone got up and hit a double to score the tying and the winning runs that brought Buckland across home plate.

It was an incredible hitting game by both teams as the Birch had 24 hits and Parkitects had 25.

Other hits from the Birch included a double and two singles by Aubrey Lewis. Maddy Boyle had a double and two singles, Morgan Ralph a triple, double and single and Anna Lewis three singles. Kenzie Muck finished with four singles, Rebekah Hoffee and Stacy Buckland each had two singles, Dana Cotriss a single and Albone two singles and that incredible walk off double.

Parkitects power hitters included Alishia Foss who went 4-4 with a triple, two doubles and a single. KB Ball also went 4-4 with two triples, a double and a single.

The Birch is now 6-2 with one rain date to make up against Banes before playoffs begin next week.

Jr. Wilson 19, Mr. Septic 12
Scoring in every inning but one, Jr. Wilson beat Mr. Septic 19-12 .

Jr. Wilson scored three runs in the first on singles from Sara Flansburg and Jodi Zacher, followed by a home run from Stormi Beach. They scored two more in the 2nd on a walk and singles from Jess Kassman, Jenn Thom, and Sharon Korzelius.

Breaking it open in the third, Jr. Wilson scored 7 runs when Alyssa Ramarge started a 2 out rally by hitting a home run, followed by a combination of walks and singles from Jaclyn Rodriquez, Bri Guzdek, and Korzelius.

Mr. Septic scored four in the 4th on a double from Randi Tower, single by Cathy Schmitt, and home runs from Emily Kams and Ashlee Salisbury. Mr. Septic put the pressure on by scoring eight more runs in the 6th, with home runs coming from Lindsay Ward and Salisbury, along with hits from Schmitt, Cami London, Audrey Vaglica, Roberta Conn, and Erika Vorhees.

In the sixth, Jr. Wilson tacked on five more runs to pull away for good, scoring on a home run from Flansburg, and hits from Penny Roath, Ramarge, Rodriquez, Connie Hornquist, and Thom. Rodriquez also had a two-run home run in the fourth for Junior Wilson.

Flansburg, Ramarge, Rodriquez, Guzdek, and Thom all finished with 3 hits for Junior Wilson, while Schmitt, Salisbury, London, and Vorhees each had two hits for Mr. Septic.
