All State softball honors for local duo

Two local sophomore pitchers – Lyndonville’s Arnie Sturtevant and Barker’s Madyson Flint – have earned spots on the All State softball squad.
Sturtevant has been named to the Class D second team and Flint to the Class C fourth team.
Sturtevant registered 124 strikeouts and had a 1.338 earned run average in 104.2 innings of work in the circle. At the plate she hit .506 with 13 doubles, 5 triples, 4 home runs and 35 RBIs.
Flint had 183 strikeouts and a 1.96 earned run average in 104.1 innings of work. At the plate she hit .395 with 10 doubles, 2 triples and 16 RBIs.
State champion Oakfield-Alabama has placed three players on the Class D team including first team honorees sophomore pitcher Savannah Durham and junior second baseman Raine Denny along with third team selection senior shortstop Emma Thompson. Durham was also named Class D Co-Player of the Year,
