Medina will open N-O track season at Barker
Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Led by this group of All League meet veterans the Medina boys track team will open the Niagara-Orleans League season at Barker on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. In front are sophomore Owen Sargent, junior Aleks Seefeldt, freshman Lukin Szatkowski, junior Jonathan Dix and junior Brandon Brueckner. In back are senior Hunter Walczak, junior Cole Hughes, sophomore Bryson Ford, junior Colvin Poole, sophomore Nate Surdel and freshman Jude Lacy. The Mustangs went 2-4 in N-O meets last spring.
The Medina girls track team will also open N-O League competition at Barker on Thursday. The underclassmen dominated Mustangs squad is led by this group of team captains. They include freshman Gabby Velez (Throws), freshman Cayla Seever (Sprints, Long Jump, 100 Hurdles), sophomore Payton Denniston (High Jump, Triple Jump 100 Hurdles), senior Rhoswyn Oakes (Jumps) and senior Aurora Owczarczak (Sprints). The Mustangs 31 member squad includes 10 freshman and 11 eighth graders.
