Barker/Roy-Hart hosts key C North game Friday; Medina, Albion and Holley are home

First place will be on the line as Barker/Roy-Hart hosts Eden/North Collins in a key C North Division football game at 7 p.m. Friday at Barker.
Both teams are 2-0 in C North competition as Barker/Roy-Hart has defeated Akron 28-10 and Medina 29-22 while Eden/North Collins has downed Maritime 63-62 and JFK 43-14.
Overall, Eden/North Collins is 3-0 having also defeated Lake Shore 28-21 while Barker/Roy-Hart is 2-1 having lost 34-15 at Newfane in the season opener.
Statistics from the first three games show Friday’s contest should be a matchup of Eden/North Collins’s passing attack and Barker/Roy-Hart’s rushing attack.
To date 16 of the Raiders 19 touchdowns have come through the air while 8 of the Bulls 10 TDs have come on the ground.
The Raiders offense is led by quarterback Brady Waring who has thrown for 911 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has also rushed for a team leading 350 yards and 3 TDs. His favorite receiving targets have been the brother duo of Silas Nellis (29 receptions for 448 yards and 8 TDs) and Isaiah Nellis (14 for 350 and 7 TDs).
“They are a great passing team. They have the ability to strike quick. Our team needs to play sound defense and tackle well in space,” said Barker/Roy-Hart Coach Bill Bruning. “We look forward to the challenge.”
Five players have scored touchdowns for Barker/Roy-Hart including Joey Reiter (4), quarterback Tysen McCaa (2), Anthony Adinolfe (2), Vince Fazzio (1) and Owen Maedl (1).
Medina hosts JFK
Looking to get back onto the winning track and stay in the race for the C North Division title, Medina will host JFK at 7 p.m. Friday at Vets Park for Homecoming.
Medina, which dropped a 29-22 decision to Barker/Roy-Hart last week, is 1-1 in the division and 2-1 overall.
JFK is 0-1 in the division and 1-2 overall. The Bears have defeated St. Mary’s of Lancaster 28-6 and lost to Cattaraugus/Little Valley 28-12 and Eden 43-14 in a C North contest.
Offensively, Medina has been led by quarterback Preston Woodworth (636 yards passing and 6 touchdowns), running back Christian Moss (451 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns) and receiver Kolton Fletcher (15 receptions for 278 yards and 4 touchdowns).
Albion hosts Olean
Albion will be looking to snap a three game season opening losing streak as the Purple Eagles host Olean at 7 p.m. Friday in a B2 Division contest.
Having been involved in three close games to date, Olean is 1-1 in the division having defeated Maryvale 27-26 and lost to Depew 28-26. Overall the Huskies are 1-2 having also lost to Salamanca 19-13.
Holley hosts Cardinal O’Hara
It will be a rematch of the season opener as Holley hosts Cardinal O’Hara at 1 p.m. Saturday for Homecoming.
Holley, which is 0-3, lost to O’Hara 33-0 at Tonawanda in the season opener.
