Tigers and Hawks earn G-R boys soccer wins

Lyndonville scored a 4-1 home field victory over Pembroke and Holley earned a 4-1 road win at Attica in Genesee Region League boys soccer games this afternoon.
Lyndonville jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a pair of goals by Colton Smith, the first off an assist from Jesus Reyes and the second on a breakaway from Chanse Amsdill.
Pembroke briefly cut the lead to 2-1 on a penalty kick goal by Patrick Reeves but Lyndonville got that one right back on a goal by Amir Zimmerman off an assist from Barrett Alexander to put the Tigers up 3-1 at the half.
Lyndonville goalie Brody Hazel then came up with a big save on a Pembroke penalty kick opportunity early in the second half to keep the Tigers up by two.
The Tigers put a lock on the victory when Zimmerman scored again with 10 minutes remaining off an assist from Smith to make the final 4-1.
Lyndonville improves to 4-1 in the league and 5-1 overall.
Holley 4, Attica 1
Cooper Wolf, Avante Walker, Chase Kempa and Blake Coleman took turns scoring the goals for Holley in the 4-1 win at Attica as the Hawks regain the .500 mark at 3-3 in G-R action.
Wolf, Josh Silpoch and Cam Kelley each had an assist.
G-R Girls Soccer
Holley 1, Wheatland-Chili 1 OT
Holley and host Wheatland-Chili battled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime in a G-R girls soccer game this evening.
Ava Mosier scored Holley’s goal in the second half off an assist from Mia Thom to knot the contest at 1-1.
Lyndonville’s Colton Smith, who scored two goals, works to get around Pembroke defender Tyler Koepf.
