Banes, Jr. Wilson win to cap ‘A’ regular season
Banes split a doubleheader Monday evening to close out the Medina Women’s Softball League ‘A’ Division regular season.
Banes downed White Birch 15-9 but bowed to Jr. Wilson 20-9.

Sue Seefeldt had 4 hits for Banes as Morgan Allis, Rileigh McCabe and Sophia Goyette each had 3.
White Birch, which had already locked up the regular season championship, was led by Bekah Hoffee with a single and triple, Anna Lewis 2 singles and a double, Kenzi Muck a double and Aubrey Lewis 2 singles. Ella Lewis, Dana Cotriss, Mallory Albone and Brynn Howell each chipped in with a single.
Banes moved on top to stay by scoring 4 quick runs in the first inning on a home run by Allis, a triple by Lindsay Chatt and singles by Connie Heschke, Jami Chatt, Kath Allen, Seefeldt and Goyette.
Banes then pulled away by scoring 3 runs in the third inning highlighted by a double by Seefeldt, 3 in the fourth keyed by doubles by Jami Chatt, Allen and Seefeldt and 5 in the sixth including a triple by Robin Blaun and a double by Allis.

Jumping out to an early lead from the start, Junior Wilson’s downed Banes 20-9 on Monday night, claiming 2nd place in the A Division regular season.
Junior Wilson’s scored 6 runs in both the first and second innings, highlighted by hits from Jenna Wlostowski, Stormi Beach, Jaclyn Rodriguez Mensing, Elizabeth Zacher, and Chasity Chinn.
Beach’s hits included a home run, while Chinn had two triples, and Wlostowski and Zacher each chipped in with a double.
Junior Wilson’s tacked on another 5 runs in the third inning, highlighted by a 2-RBI single by Jessica Rosenbeck.
Banes did come back to score five runs in the 5th inning to keep the game going, with hits from Lindsay Chatt, Morgan Allis, Rileigh McCabe, and a double from Kathy Allen.
Rodriguez Mensing led Junior Wilson’s with 4 hits, while Beach, Wlostowski, and Zacher each had three.
Heschke, Allis and McCabe each had 3 hits for Banes.
