Top 10 finish for Green at Toledo Classic

Registering two clutch birdies late in today’s final round earned Medina’s Melanie Green a top 10 finish at the Epson Pro Golf Tour’s Greater Toledo Classic at Toledo, Ohio.

Green scored birdies on the 15th and 17th holes to finish the day with a two under par round of 69.

With that round she finished the three day tournament with a 7 under par total of 206 good for a share of 9th place.

The top 10 finish is her fourth in the last five tournaments.

Earlier in today’s round Green notched birdies on 2, 9 and 12 to offset bogeys on 5, 10 and 13 which kept her even for the day at that point.

She rebounded strongly from that bogey on 13 with key birdies on both 15 and 17 to gain the share of 9th place.

Green also opened the tournament with a 2 under par round of 69 on Friday and followed that up with a 3 under par round of 68 on Saturday. That gave her a two day total of 5 under par 137 heading into today’s final round.

Green will next compete in the Epson Tournament at South Bend, Indiana next weekend.

She entered this weekend ranked 3rd in the race for one of the coveted LPGA Tour cards which will go to the top 15 point getters et the end of the Epson season.

Because of the rainy weather the past two days, the Epson players were unable to play today’s final round with the LPGA Legends players who were having their own tournament on the same course this weekend.
