Medina FC nipped in Wood Cup Tourney semi
Scoring a goal in each half Buffalo Night nipped the Medina Mustangs FC 2-1 in the semifinals of the Buffalo District Soccer League’s Wood Cup Tournament at Sahlens Sports Park Thursday evening.
Ethan Leonard scored the lone Medina goal unassisted.
In the title contest, Buffalo Night will face Mandem, a 1-0 winner over Ukraine in the other semifinal.
The loss was the first of the season for Medina FC which had defeated Buffalo Night 4-0 early in the regular season of 1st Division competition.
Medina FC will next host a 1st Division semifinal round playoff game on August 3 at Vets Park.
The Mustangs earned the top seed for the playoffs after capturing the 1st Division regular season championship with a 9-0-1 record.
