Sandstone nips Carlton in Midget contest
Sandstone edged past Carlton 7-6 in an Albion Midget League 12U Division baseball game this past week.
Trailing 6-4, Sandstone rallied for the win by scoring three times in the bottom of the sixth on two walks and a fielders choice play off the bat of Blake Brown.
Sandstone also scored four times in the second inning highlighted by a three-run double by Bryce Saxton.
Carlton took what proved to be a brief 6-4 lead by scoring three times in the top of the sixth highlighted by an RBI hit by Wyatt Ernst.
Nikko Russo had 3 hits and Saxton 2 for Sandstone.
Alex Piccirilli had 2 hits for Carlton.
