The Kendall baseball and Lyndonville softball teams have both earned No. 1 seeds for the upcoming Section V tournament.

The Kendall baseball team, which brings a 19-1 record into the tournament, has drawn a first round bye. The Eagles will host a quarterfinal round game against the winner of Thursday’s opening round contest between No. 8 Perry and No. 9 Dundee/Bradford.

The Section V playoff schedule lists the quarterfinal round for Saturday but with the rainy weather forecast to last the next three days the dates for the early rounds of the playoffs are uncertain at this time.

The Lyndonville softball team, which posted a 17-2 regular season record, is scheduled to open the Class D tournament at home at 5 p.m. Thursday against No. 16 Hinsdale. The victor will then face the winner of Thursday’s No. 9 Pavilion vs. No. 8 Notre Dame contest in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Seeded No. 15, the Lyndonville baseball team is scheduled to visit No. 2 Keshequa at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

The No. 5 seeded Kendall softball team is scheduled to host No. 12 York at 5 p.m. Friday. The victor would then face the winner of the No. 13 Perry vs. No. 4 Bolivar-Richburg game in the quarterfinals on May 27.

The No. 14 seeded Holley softball team is scheduled to visit No. 3 Geneseo at 5 p.m. Friday. The victor will face the winner of the No. 11 Warsaw vs No. 6 Marion/Gananda contest  in the quarterfinals on May 27.
