Local duo helps Thunderwolves win Regional

Two local players, Medina’s Aidan Paul and Roy-Hart’s Gavin Boyle, have helped the SUNY Niagara Thunderwolves capture the Region III baseball championship and earn a berth in the upcoming Junior College World Series.
Improving to 49-0 on the season, the Thunderwolves defeated Finger Lakes Community College 10-0, Herkimer 10-0 and Finger Lakes again 18-6 in the Region III playoffs.
Paul hurled a 3 hit shutout with 7 strikeouts in the opening win over Finger Lakes.
Boyle had 2 hits and 2 RBI in the win over Herkimer and then had a huge day in the finale against Finger Lakes banging out a double, triple and home run driving in a total of 7 runs.
Paul, a sophomore is now 7-0 on the season on the mound with 58 strikeouts and an earned run average of 0.99.
Boyle, a sophomore outfielder, is hitting .397 with 17 doubles, 7 triples, 10 home runs and 54 runs batted in.
