Lady Tigers complete sweep of Notre Dame
Completing a home-and-home season series sweep, Lyndonville downed host Notre Dame 8-1 in a Genesee Region League softball game this afternoon.
Trailing 1-0, Lyndonville rallied into the lead for good by scoring three times in the fourth inning ignited by the first of Addison Dillenbeck’s two triples and highlighted by a two-run single by Alexa Robinson.
The Lady Tigers later put a lock on the win by scoring 4 times in the sixth inning as Robinson banged out another two-run single.
Dillenbeck had a total of 3 hits and Robinson 2.
Arnie Sturtevant earned the win in the circle allowing only 3 hits and striking out 12.
Lyndonville is now 10-0 in the league and 12-1 overall.
In other G-R games, Oakfield-Alabama defeated Kendall 15-0 and Byron-Bergen downed Holley 16-4.
Akron 20, Medina 8
Erupting for 10 quick runs in the first inning, Akron went on to down visiting Medina 20-8 this afternoon in the Niagara-Orleans League softball finale for both teams.
Doubles by Kylie Mangione and Addison Massaro highlighted the big first inning for the Lady Tigers which wind up the N-O season at 4-8. Massaro had a total of 3 hits as Shannon Esmond and Kenadee Jonathan both had triples.
Lilah Class and Karlee Cau both had a pair of hits for Medina which finishes at 0-12.
